Bomboniere How To
A minimum of two nets is required, three nets will give a more dramatic look - the bomboniere will become fuller the greater the number of nets. Combining different colours and styles of net will create more impact. Base cups help to give the bomboniere shape and balance.
Filling - Traditionally sugar almonds however fillings we have used include jelly beans, mints, chocolate hearts, rose petals and lavender. Ribbon - use 3mm or 6mm ribbon or curling ribbon.
DIY DIRECTIONS
- Place the individual nets on top of each other, ensuring each layer is centred. The botom net will be the outside layer in the finished product.
- If you are using an base cup place in the centre of the top layer.
- Place the filling for the bomboniere on the base cup.
- Cut the lengths of ribbon required don't forget to include extra length for tying a bow or curling if desired .
- Gather together the edges of the tulle into the centre and tie tightly with ribbon. TIP Securing the bomboniere with an elasic band before tying your ribbon will enable you to separate the layers easier on the finished item,
- To create the best effect you will need to pull each layer gently into shape this will give the bomboniere a fuller look.
- To complete you can insert flowers or gems into the centre of the bomboniere.
